My name is Bridging Boundaries International. I was created because I believe that an investment in young people made today, provides hope for tomorrow.
We live in a world where the media seems to highlight cultural differences, economic disparities, and political processes as inevitable sources of conflict. I dare to challenge that. I believe that we live in a world where, by and large, all people possess a certain simple goodness that transcends any and all differences.
I believe that creating an opportunity for young people to experience the simple goodness that exists in other cultures can leave a lasting impression that can pave the way for more tolerance, more patience, and more acceptance in a global system that is becoming inextricably intertwined by the moment.
I am a dreamer – and I make no apologies for that. I dream of a better tomorrow – I dream of a cooperative future – I dream of a time when we look at each other and pass no judgment based on external appearance, economic status, or political persuasion. It is, I suppose, the dream of an idealist – but – when you come right down to it – all successful great things worth dreaming came from some idealistic notion or another.
I am a classroom – I am a speaker – I am a host family – I am a cultural experience that demonstrates the inherent goodness that exists throughout humanity.
